Welcome to Canberra for the 2023 ACEM ASM “ACTion Under Pressure”!

Join us at the National Museum of Australia to decompress with your family, friends and colleagues.

With soaring ceilings and expansive windows overlooking Lake Burley Griffin, the Gandel Atrium includes the highlights of the museum’s collection. There is no better venue to celebrate the opening of the Canberra ASM, congratulate our new fellows and network with colleagues.

This is a family inclusive event, where we invite attendees to join us in celebration with their families, should they wish.  Children’s entertainment and catering will be included, to allow everyone to make the most of what Canberra has to offer!

Trainee Networking Function

Join other Trainees at this casual evening where you will have a chance to catch up with friends and make new acquaintances. Ticket price includes light food and one drink on arrival. Delegates are invited to order additional beverages from the bar on the evening, at their own expense.

ASM Gala

Australia in 1983: the number one movie was ET, the number one song was Australiana (by Austen Tayshus), Australia won the America’s Cup. More importantly, 37% of FACEMs and 97% of registrars had not yet been born, and in a neon lit hotel in Surfer’s Paradise, the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine was born!

To celebrate these momentous events, come along in your best 1983 leg warmers, shoulder pads or fluoro parachute pants, to the greatest 1983 themed gala conference dinner of all time!

Enjoy the sunset from the heart of the National Arboretum, with uninterrupted panoramic views across Canberra. Enhanced by exceptional locally sourced cuisine and live entertainment, unwind with your friends, and embrace your inner 80s, with prizes for best dressed!

Global Emergency Care Dinner Function

The Global Emergency Care Dinner, hosted by the ACEM Global Emergency Care Committee (GECCo), is an evening of celebration and networking for the GEC community. It is also an opportunity to acknowledge ACEM’s Global Emergency Care Scholars and the recipients of the LMIC Delegate Subsidisation Scheme. Please join us for a relaxed and social dinner!
